What color does a red shirt appear to be under blue light?
Grey; black if there is only perfectly blue light (i.e. all one wavelength) and no other around, and if the shirt is 'perfectly red'. The red shirt appears red only if it is able to reflect red light, which is present in white light from the sun but not in purely blue light.
I used to have some rainbow socks, and at the club I went to there was a strobe light which went red/green/blue; and depending on which light was on some of the stripes on my socks would turn grey but others remained coloured, as the different components of the light filtered in and out. It was cool to watch
